On this episode of The Wednesday Call podcast, Andy Albright wants to help you lock in on the right questions to ask people that will help you engage the right people.

Why do builders and producers fail?

They limit their energies to those with whom they are comfortable ...

INSTEAD OF ...

spending most of their time with prospects and customers who are closest to the decision ...

AT THAT POINT ...

It is all about asking better questions.

There are two aspects that one must consider before asking such questions:

You must identify the right people

You must get into a conversation with them (engage them).

IDENTIFY

Make a tentative list of suspects whom you suspect might be prospects. Suspects are people you know little about and know little about you. Prospects are people who have a legitimate need for what you are offering.

The process of turning a suspect into a prospect is called "qualifying." Create a profile of your best agents-customers, and then apply that profile to the world at large (Alliance Aiden and Alice). Collect information about the suspect and hone in on key attributes that make them a good fit.

ENGAGE THE RIGHT PEOPLE

Get an appointment for a dialogue with these people. Convey the perception of your competence and credibiity.

QUESTION: Do you know about the benefit?

Show interest in them.

QUESTION: What do you expect?

Influence them to talk to you further.

QUESTION: How satisfied are you?

Connect fast at the follow-up meeting.

Validate their self-worth (break the ice). Acknowledging statement: "That is an interesting point!"

Empathize by considering their feelings/opinions (prime the pump). Accepting statement: "I never thought about it that way."

Understand by recognizing their feelings/opinions. Affirming question: "Tell me more?"

On this episode of The Wednesday Call, Andy Albright drives deep about choosing what is important in life.

Do you know what your True North is? How do we figure that out?

Are you self-aware? How is your conscience? Do you exercise great independent will? Do you have a strong creative imagination?

All these things matter when it comes to choosing what you do.

Self-awareness: the ability to examine your old ways and the results they are not producing. Are you able to stand apart from your thoughts or feelings, examine them and change them? This is about being your own personal “eye in the sky” that can look down at your thinking and the actions that follow.

Conscience: the ability to choose new paths to your success that are in harmony with the principles of your heart. Do you feel an inner prompting that you should or should not do something you are about to do? This means exercising your own personal moral authority to be a beacon of light for others to follow.

Independent will: the ability to exercise your right to make choices, which create positive change in your life. Can you allow your mood to be a slave to your commitments? This means developing the ability to set and achieve meaningful goals in my life by making and keeping promises to yourself as well as to other people.

Creative imagination: the ability to empower yourself to see beyond the obvious and visualize a deserved life. Do you visualize your life beyond its present reality? This means dreaming of a better tomorrow by looking for new and creative ways to solve problems.

To learn more about this topic, read Stephen Covey’s book “First Things First.”

On this episode of The Wednesday Call podcast, Andy Albright wants to talk about procrastination and how you can make it a positive thing.

Why do people think procrastination is bad? It can be good!

A lot of times we tend to look at procrastination as a bad thing, but in some cases, that's not true. Putting certain things off in the moment doesn't always mean it's procrastinating but better yet, prioritizing. Maybe that one thing isn't as important as your other task, or maybe it doesn't make you money.

Michael Owens, Michele Alleman, Jane Hill, Marvin Osuna and Belle Crause traveled to Connecticut this week with Albright to talk about The Alliance’s relationship with NASSAU RE as part of a contest. They joined Albright on the show to talk about what all went down earlier this week.

On this episode of The Wednesday Call podcast, Andy Albright is back after a quick trip to meet with Foresters in Toronto, Canada to talk to you about being fanatical.

What makes some people winners? Why do some people thrive and excel? Are you the kind of person that refuses to stay down when you face adversity?

Most winners find a way to win even when it doesn't seem likely. They are people that are so focused on what they are doing that it doesn't matter what is going on outside of that work.

Nov 27, 2019

On this episode of The Wednesday Call podcast, Andy Albright wants to talk to you about what it means to be fanatical and how to find the next fanatic on your team.

Damon West, an author and motivational speaker, was a special guest on the show. He wanted to speak to The Alliance about National Convention, where he will serve as the keynote speaker.

West’s book “The Change Agent” details how he let his life get upside down, wound up in jail and now has turned his life around after being released from jail. He was facing life in prison, but was able to change his life. West is an underdog that was facing a sad life that would keep in prison, until he let God start guiding his life.

From the bestselling co-author of The Coffee Bean comes the true story of a well-raised kid, a three-year starting quarterback, a young person filled with potential ... until a shocking addiction took hold.

Sentenced to sixty-five years in a Texas prison, Damon West once had it all. He came from a great family, in a home full of God, love, support, and opportunities to reach any goal.

A natural-born leader, an athlete with good looks and charm, he appeared to be the all-American kid pursuing his dreams. Underneath this facade, however, was an addict in the early stages of disease. After suffering childhood sexual abuse by a babysitter at the age of nine, Damon began putting chemicals into his body to alter the way he felt.

Once he was introduced to methamphetamines, however, he became instantly hooked -- and the lives of so many innocent people would forever be changed by the choices he made in order to feed his insatiable meth habit.

After a fateful discussion during his incarceration with a seasoned convict, Damon had a spiritual awakening. He learned that, like a coffee bean changing with the application of heat and pressure, he was capable of changing the environment around him.

Armed with a program of recovery, a renewed faith, and a miraculous second chance at life, Damon emerged from over seven years of prison a changed man. His story of redemption continues to inspire audiences today.

Albright also had top agents Stephen Davies and Mark Hutcheson join him on the show. The trio hosted a meeting in Detroit, Mich. The night before, but flew back in time to host the TWC.

Darkness can’t take over light. That’s an engineering fact. When we listen to negative naysayers nothing good is going to happen. Avoid negative environments. Depend on yourself and try to make things happen. Part of success is failure. Don’t hang out with chickens. Hang out with eagles. Don’t speak negative. Only iron can sharpen iron. Get around iron!

Oct 16, 2019

On this episode of The Wednesday Call podcast, Andy Albright and Jeff Bright talking forming positive relationships way before you need them in your life.

Here's three things you need to remember when dealing with people. This comes from Brian Tracy's book "Goals!"

The foundation of a quality relationship is the unconditional positive acceptance of and regard for the other person. This means that you accept the other person exactly the way he or she is, with no attempt or desire to change the person’s basic character or personality. Unconditional acceptance is the greatest gift that one person can give to another.

Caring is not natural, but it is important. Caring is necessary because people don't feel validated without it. People need to hear that you want to hear their story.

In a loving relationship, you care more for the happiness and well-being of the other person than you do for your own. Spouses who love each other and who love their children are willing to make any sacrifice to preserve and protect the others’ health and well-being.

Sacrifice is not natural. Sacrifice is necessary because people don't always think they have value.

The true measure of the health of a relationship is how much and how often the people involved laugh together and how often. Since laughter is the outer expression of an inner feeling of true happiness, it is the one measure that cannot be faked.

Laughter is not natural. Laughter is necessary because people don't think they have hope.

How do I get out of my own way?

"I feel weird or crazy." Why is this not working?

I'm not perfect. How do I expect others to do good?

This is the part where you have to do to feel rather than feel before doing. Act your way into a feeling before you feel like doing it!

Sep 3, 2019

On this episode of The Wednesday Call podcast, your host Andy Albright talks about dealing with storms and the aftermath left behind.

Before you start asking for help, you should be able to answer four basic, simple questions.

4 Rules for Problems

What is the problem?

What is the CAUSE of the problem?

What are the possible solutions of the problem?

What SOLUTION do you suggest?

When you know the answers to these questions, you can probably solve the issue yourself. At least if you still need help, you can share the information with the person you are seeking help from. If you can use these simple questions, it will change your life and help you solve problems much faster.

Answering these questions, you will get to the root of the problem quicker. If the problem started 10 years ago, it will take longer to fix.

When you write down problems and solutions, you can move faster to fix issues.

Andy likes to read “First Things First” and “How To Stop Worrying and Start Living” to help him find solutions faster. He loves Covey’s “four quadrants” to help decide how he spends his time. You have to stay focused on the things that matter and delay or put off the unimportant tasks. Reading those two books will help reinforce your behaviors or explain what you are doing incorrectly.

George Bernard Shaw quote on Quality of Life

“This is the true joy in life … being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one … being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy … I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live

Oliver Wendell Holes said, “I wouldn’t give a fig for the simplicity on this side of complexity; I would give my right arm for the simplicity on the far side of complexity.”

William James on action from “As A Man Thinketh”

“Action seems to follow feeling, but really action and feeling go together; and by repelling the action, which is under the more direct control of the will, we can indirectly regulate the feeling which is not.”

“… Thus, the sovereign voluntary path to cheerfulness, if you cheerfulness be lost, is to sit up cheerfully and to act and speak as cheerfulness were already there.”

FTD – Fool Things I’ve Done. Figure out what you did wrong, what you did right and what you can improve on … that’s how you get better. Review your day at night. That’s how you improve.

Ben Franklin was very good at this. He hated wasted time, stewing over stuff that didn’t matter and arguing and contradicting people. He fought those things his entire life.

Be open to criticism and be willing to criticize yourself. We are all wrong for at least five minutes a day; the key is to try to keep it to five or less.

Most of what we worry about is not even in our control. Have faith that it will be OK, especially if you don’t make it worse. Don’t be afraid to pray about it. Many people find the confidence of action through the power of prayer. Prayer is an active force to create motion. It is the first force of action.

Prayer, action, doing and friends are the ingredients you need to get through the storms of life.
