On this episode of The Wednesday Call podcast, Andy Albright comes to you live from his home in Treasure Island, Fla. to talk about the importance of attitude when it comes to being successful.

The Two Attributes of a Positive Attitude:

1). With a positive attitude comes your first biggest asset: Enthusiasm

  • The requirement for being enthusiastic is being an optimist which is a willingness to make an effort and take a chance instead of assuming your efforts won't pay off.
  • The moral we're talking about is having a natural passion for life which doesn't have to rely on a scripted response. The deeper your belief level, the greater your chance of success.

Quote: "Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows

will fall behind you." -- Walt Whitman

2). With a positive attitude comes your second biggest asset: Persuasion

  • The requirement for being persuasive is creating an atmosphere of acceptance which is getting others to acknowledge that things don't always turn out how we want them to, and that they must quickly learn from those mistakes and move on.
  • The moral is realizing your job is not to teach others to change but rather to convince them to adjust their thinking. Try to raise their curiosity with opportunity rather than satisfy with answers.

Quote: "I do not believe in taking the right decision, I take a decision and make it right." -- Muhammad Ali Jinnah

On this episode of The Wednesday Call podcast, Andy Albright offers up eight easy examples to help you be less passive-aggressive.

"Although I express myself with some degree of pleasantry, the purpose of my words is entirely serious."

-- Robert Louis Stevenson; most noted for writing Treasure Island and Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Example of the above quote from Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights:

"With all due respect, and remember I'm saying with all due respect, that idea ain't worth a velvet painting of a whale and dolphin getting ready to get it on."

What is Passive-Aggressive Behavior?

Expressing negative feelings subtly instead of handling them directly.

For example: A person with passive-aggressive behavior may oppose the plan, but instead of voicing their actual opinion, they practice indirect resistance (agreeing but taking no action) and avoidance (procrastinating and pouting).

You might be Passive-Aggressive if:

• You frequently criticize and protest the established system.

• You are constantly sarcastic with backhanded compliments.

You might be Passive-Aggressive if:

• You intentionally forget and purposefully perform tasks inefficiently.

• You are cynical and stubborn while performing mundane tasks.

You might be Passive-Aggressive if:

• You blame others and play the victim.

• You display resentment over perceived unfair practices and delay "Doing the Do" with requests.

You might be Passive-Aggressive if:

• You fear competition and downplay leaderboards.

• You have bitterness and hostility toward curve busters.

On this episode of The Wednesday Call podcast, Andy Albright shares eight characteristics of a winner.

They expect to win (by setting clear/achievable goals and relentlessly pursuing them as the chase becomes the center of their reason for living).

They don't whine (by never complaining about a setback and not searching for excuses of why something didn't happen for them).

They find solutions (by finding opportunity in crisis and seeing gain in the pain they constantly expand their comfort zone and G.S.D.).

They keep pressing forward (by focusing with intention and connecting with their purpose frees them from distracting thoughts).

They set the bar high (by betting on themselves daily and not settling on "good enough" they seek to surpass the expectation and achieve excellence).

They are willing to pay the price (by taking calculated steps to find greatness and outworking the competition through the mundane tasks).

They make everyone around them better (by communicating effectively/leaving nothing to chance and moving faster to create momentum within their group).

They finish strong (by doing the little things well and embracing the fourth quarter with enthusiasm).
